Betty “Betz” Bonin,

Betty (“Betz”) Bonin has been commercially fishing for salmon for over thirty years. She is now a commercial fisheries permit holder and captain of a setnet operation on the beach in Naknek, Alaska.
Betz has three children-Rhonda, Izetta, and Everett, and 4 (soon-to-be 5) grandchildren. She lives year-round in Naknek, Alaska, where she owns Fireweed Fabrics and teaches quilting courses during the winter months.

Recently retired after over 30 years as the Clerk at the Bristol Bay Borough, Betz plans to spend her time between travel, quilting, and spending time with her grandchildren.
